About Us

“Escola de Goleiros”, which translates to “School for Goalkeepers”, had its first chapter on November 7 th , 2005 in a town called Americana, in inner-state São Paulo. The first “Escola de Goleiros” was idealized by Vander Batistella, physical educator and goalkeeper trainer.

Batistella has passage in the following Brazilian teams: XV de Piracicaba – Piracicaba, Rio Branco – Americana, Guarani – Campinas, among others.

With the objective of removing children and young people, between 7 and 18 years of age, from the streets and idleness, the “Escola de Goleiros” is a free training program that requires good behavior both inside and outside the training sessions, in addition to the commitment of all students in the school.

The first day of activities was at the Milton Fenley Azenha Civic Center, on the basketball court, due to a rainfall on the city that day. Even off the field, the project started with around 90 young people.

After a few months, the “Escola de Goleiros” gained a fixed location for the development of its activities, which takes place in the same place until today. With three fields, one of natural grass and two synthetic fields, in addition to two changing rooms (male / female), kitchen, warehouse and reception; with all this structure, the “Escola de Goleiros” in Americana is reference in the sector.

More than four thousand young people have participated in the training sessions and today they all have a special fondness for the project.

Currently, the “Escola de Goleiros” is an association with active participation from parents as well as the community and is also part of the Sports Incentive Program (PIE) from the government of the state of São Paulo and has the support of the local government of Americana. In 2020, the “Escola de Goleiros” celebrates 15 years of uninterrupted activity.
